Halászlé é uma sopa picante de peixe com paprica, tomate, pimento e cebola. Tradicionalmente, a sopa é feita em caldeirões grandes, ao ar livre. Esta sopa de peixe é um dos pratos tradicionais que constam na ementa da ceia de Natal.

Ingredientes:
- 150 g de pimentos verdes
- 2 kg de carpa fresca (garoupa, besugo ou corvina)
- 250 g de cebolas
- 30 g de paprica moída
- 70 g de tomate

Confeção:
Escame e limpe bem o peixe, reservando as ovas, a cabeça, a espinha central, a pele e as aletas que serão usadas para o caldo de peixe.
Corte o peixe em postas grossas e salgue-as.
Guarde o peixe no frigorífico, juntamente com as ovas.
Faça um bom caldo de peixe, cozinhando as partes do peixe aproveitadas com cebola, sal, pimento verde e tomate, durante cerca de 1 hora.
Quando o caldo estiver pronto, passe-o pelo coador.
Para tornar o caldo mais espesso e saboroso, reduza a puré todos os ingredientes com que preparou o caldo e passe igualmente pelo coador. Reserve.
Cozinhe as postas de peixe no caldo, durante cerca de 10 minutos.
Misture o puré com o caldo e leve ao lume. Quando começar a ferver, tempere com a paprica.
Junte as postas de peixe e sirva de imediato.
